Community Psychology is about understanding people within their social worlds and using this understanding to improve their welbeing. It stands to bridge the gap between the psyche and the social, the private, and the public.

This course is about how marriages and families work, and when they don’t work—how to make them work.  This is not to imply that marriages and families “Work” in the same manner.  Work means to identify goals for the marriage and family system and for individual members within the system, and to move communally toward those goals. Because goals are different to each family, the work it requires to reach those goals will differ as well.
