This is an introductory course to research methods. Students who complete research methods 1 will also be expected to take research methods 2 in their second year of study. The objectives of research methods 1 include:

introduce basic concepts in research methodology to the students
§To
introduce different research methods to the students and discuss their
applicability to public health research
§To
discuss the importance of public health ethics in research and why it is
important
§To
help students appreciate the process of proposal writing and how it relates to
public health research
§To
help students appreciate the role of public health research in public health
practice
